Unveiling a Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop in a Mission to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have encountered a variety of interesting indie games. Yet, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this retro-inspired jumping adventure includes a protagonist that is literally a piece of poop attempting to navigate to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: just use a single jump button. In numerous levels, you'll face tough enemies and unlock a market to acquire outfits for your poop character.

Execute your movements with caution, since one error means beginning again. Bounce using floating orbs to hurl yourself higher, navigate fragile surfaces, and activate switches to open new areas. Collect coins to purchase more difficult stages in which the action intensifies.

Graphically, the demo features eye-catching environments and a killer background music. The retro art of moving geometric shapes evokes memories of fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to think of previous releases where you are a piece of feces, video games have long included scatological themes. For example, in Death Stranding, you can make throwables from character waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as plant food. Unsurprisingly, fecal references is present heavily in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its humorous idea, Unko Technica has already garnered significant recognition, including taking top honors at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. The demo is ready now on Steam, with the final release scheduled to launch on PC in the fall.
